During the pandemic, thoughtbot shifted to a 100% remote work model. In the beginning of 2021, we made the transition permanent.

Although fully remote, the foundation of who we are and what’s important to us has not changed. We remain committed to our purpose of continuously learning and improving the way people work while building higher-quality products that make positive contributions to the world. We continue to build a culture that champions people, inclusivity, and diversity. We actively find new ways to stay connected and collaborate as a team and with clients.

We are excited about the opportunities remote work offers. The new model allows us to more easily hire and onboard talented team members across the globe and enables us to better support clients anywhere in the world.

We’ve also taken this opportunity to restructure. We’ve shifted from a studio model to a product-offering reporting model built on service lines, along the full spectrum of product development—validation, build, scaling, maintenance and support.

Those lines are:

This structure will allow us to better deliver end-to-end product development and support our clients based on their stage, their goals, and their needs.

Over the past several months, we’ve seen remote work produce amazing results. As we move toward a post-pandemic world, thoughtbot will continue to offer the best product design and development services available. We’ll just be doing it from more places.
